MISSIONARY LETTER
Formosa, Argentina
Brothers and Sisters in the Faith:
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from
whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the
LORD, which made heaven and earth”—Psalm
121:1,2. We rejoice with the Psalmist. Our strength
is in Him, Christ the Lord.
We
want to bring you up to date with what is happening
here. We are going through a stage of change in
which our pastoral vision is to create a spirit of
togetherness. We also are working on establishing
coordinated administrative procedures and goals.
Last year we had 58 baptisms after going through a
course of preparation. Baptismal services are
always very emotional and moving.
Back in August we celebrated Missionary Day, using
the date when our dear missionary John Dring arrived
from England in 1935. He was a man with a vision
for Formosa.
At
our school there are special courses for all our
teachers with the purpose of strengthening their
spiritual lives. It is used to focus on Bible
instruction while also providing sports and
recreational activities. There is a new government
requirement that all secondary schools must offer a
complete program up to the twelfth grade (our
programs go to the ninth). Therefore we are
evaluating our options on how to provide additional
space. We have also approached the government for
assistance.
We
remain thankful for your help and prayers. May the
grace of God be with you.
